From blank canvas to fintech brand. GetPaid Africa needed more than a logo—they needed an identity that would make businesses trust them with their money. I created the complete visual system: logo, brand guidelines, marketing website, developer documentation, and sales materials that helped them close their first 200 merchants.
GetPaid was a David entering a market of Goliaths—competing against Paystack, Flutterwave, and global players like Stripe. They had a solid product but no visual identity, no website, no pitch deck. Potential clients couldn't distinguish them from dozens of other 'African payment solutions.' We needed to build trust before the first handshake.
Created a complete brand identity from scratch. The logo—a stylized 'G' incorporating payment flow—communicates movement and security. The color palette balances fintech professionalism (deep greens) with African warmth (accent golds). The marketing website tells a clear story: 'Accept payments your way.' Developer docs follow Stripe's gold standard with interactive code examples. Sales materials give the team confidence in every pitch.
How we brought this project to life
Two-day intensive with the founding team. We defined brand values: Trust, Simplicity, African-first. Mapped competitor positioning to find whitespace. Created brand personality: 'The friend who happens to be a payments expert.' Established tone of voice for all communications.
Explored 30+ logo concepts before landing on the flowing 'G' mark. Designed primary and secondary color palettes with accessibility in mind. Selected typography that works across web, print, and mobile. Created brand guidelines document: 40 pages of usage rules and examples.
Designed conversion-focused website with clear value proposition above the fold. Created product pages for each payment method (cards, mobile money, bank transfers). Built interactive pricing calculator that increased qualified leads by 60%. Optimized for mobile—70% of African traffic.
Designed developer portal inspired by Stripe's DX excellence. Interactive API explorer with live code examples in Python, JavaScript, PHP, and Ruby. Quick-start guides for common integrations. Dark mode because developers deserve it. The goal: first integration in under 30 minutes.
